Because 1 person can open a chest, if it's purple everyone moves on, if gold everyone opens. This means you'll spend less keys on purple drops because of the alternation in testing.

Chest loot is not affected by antifarming code. Chest loot it's like gambling.

Back when factions was released, I'd say less than a week after release, I did supply runs for faction.. insaely easy pre-nerf. I also usually opened 3-4 chests during the runs, and a definately more than half were gold. I was talking to my guild about it and the others agreed there was a 75% gold drop rate. Now.. I havent been running it extensively, but its mostly purple now.

Deduce what you will from this.

i the last 3 weeks ive gone from opening 4/5 chests gold to 1/10. and i dont just run zone. ill run the entire jade sea in 1 go. then ill got hit a few easy mission and explorable areas outside of it. 3 weeks ago i could keep my addicting habit supported now cant seem to get a good drop. i mean sure i get +15% xxx all the time. but its like req 11-13 always and the req 8s are almost always +5 energy or something else useless.

i have a love hate relationship with chests. i love to open them and hate to id my drops.

Students...

Master Togo is not impressed by your needs to overfarm chests. I as well has had great difficulty getting my hands on Gold coloured items.

Yet we all know the true cause of this decrease in chest quality is the evil organisation know only as the "Farming Bots".

They must be stopped!

Think I've only seen a few golds from chests in the whole game.

I was in Raisu Explorable twice to uncover the fogged harbour area -> 10of10 chests purple.
Looks more like a bug than an effect from over farming...

Key... you're farming chests, not playing the game. Yeah, the purples could suck but honestly, I play the game normally, do missions, kill things, kill things in a different area, come back and slaughter some more!... *coughs* And nearly 80% of my chest drops are gold. Yes, the switch off in some groups seems to help with key cost, and efficiency.. and sometimes no matter what you do, a map of chests are a percentage purple. But .. focus less on the chests and more on the slaughter *cackle* and see if your drops improve.

This should read 'uhh 1 third of all chests I farm will be golds.

I wouldn't claim that everyone else will get the same as me. Many of us believe that the drop rates are not all equal (more likely based on some seed generated during character creation) as we have seen over the past year that some characters are inherently 'lucker' than others. Even without that, though, it's not always good to claim all experiences are the same based upon your own. Just an FYI. I know a character that has picked up several max purples in a row in Gates of Kryta, which still amazes me. She consistently has good drops, hence the overwhelming cash on her account.

Hmmm, 100% of my chests are gold. Because I dont care about opening chests, I only ever use keys on chests that other people have tested first. Otherwise I just dont bother. I have a bunch of gold items of varying quality that I have no idea what they're worth and cant be bothered selling. Maybe if they ever implement that in game auction system....

Question: has anybody got a rare drop from a chest in Raisu Palace Explorable since they got changed to Forbidden Chests?
I haven't. (10 out of 10 were purple)

i dont waste money on chests that cost less then 600 (unless a friend gives me discounted merchant keys)

The juice aint worth the squeeze if you arent sure your going to get max damage. I only buy luxon, obsidian, and phantom keys. Normally i sit quietly and wait for others to open chests in UW and FoW to see if its gold or purple but ill go ahead and test now and then. My experience with luxon keys has been pretty bad. The past 30 keys i maybe got like 7 or 8 golds. Only like 2 of then were perfect with bad req's. Im not complaning at all because it is my gamble and its like the lottery, nothing needs improving. Since i usually farm luxon chests in Archipelagos i decided to go to Gyala Hatchery explorable and i began to get more golds from the chests. I highly doubt my switching zones where i normally farm had any effect at all and its just coincidence, but hey it worked for me

Exactly, great advice, keep playing the game, and start some new toons
and then open chests as you go, your drops will be better, and when you kill
Shiro you get the Amulet. I have completed the entire game on both sides
six times already, now working on a necro and then will do a Rit. and will
have done all 8 characters, 3 were Tyrian toons. So I see spending large
amounts of gold for weapons as silly, just make sure to have the right keys
on you when entering any missions, and if you open a chest make sure to
tell everyone really quick what color it is.
